For example, there was the time that he bargained with Tzeench to save his legion, which was understandable but nonetheless not so smart, particularly since he had been warned against it by the Emperor. He did flee to the realm of chaos to escape Teclis's spell during the battle of Finuval plain (due to the fact that the Chaos realm was the only place Asuryan's power couldn't follow him, Teclis having used his magic to ignite the flames which still smouldered within him) but this was out of sheer desperation.
